Ahh thank you, that is interesting! I do hope you saw him on a more off day too, but what you say rings true in many ways; he's at his best when he's doing subtle, and so it's hard to imagine him taking to a Shakespeare lead as well as he's taken to his other good roles. I'm fascinated about your catching John Watson in his act though. Wish I could see what you meant. I didn't catch much John in his Lester Nygaard, you know? And I really enjoyed that contrast, especially because Lester's such an unrepetent dick and John is just so good of a person, sometimes to the point of innocent puppy dog.
